At MakeHampers, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to reduce our impact on the environment and bring out more positive change when it comes to the climate emergency.

Reducing our Impact on the Environment

With a small and locally-based team, one way in which we try to reduce our carbon footprint is by promoting staff to walk to-and-from work as well as making use of public transport throughout the week. We’ve also made recent changes to the office itself by swapping out our standard light bulbs with energy saving LED panels.

We manage waste, using a specialist collection company to pick up and recycle what we throw away. Although these changes are small, it’s important to know that the more we as individuals do to minimise our contributions to the climate emergency, the greater our impact is

We also use national couriers to make deliveries rather than using our own fleet of vehicles, in order to lower the amount of vehicles on the roads.

With our products, we aim to be as sustainable as possible by using the least amount of non-recyclable packaging as we can, allowing more space to pack some delicious goodies inside our gifts! When it comes to corporate gifting, we encourage customers to ship their bulk order to one central location, rather than to multiple addresses. This helps reduce the overall distance delivery vans have to drive, ultimately bringing down fuel emissions.
